Rights-Based Approaches: Learning Project

This paper aims to provide lessons learned during a rigorous application of Rights Based Approaches (RBAs) in a variety of contexts. It is hoped that this paper will help field-based staff, partners and other development practitioners in the design and implementation of rights-based projects.

While frequently less immediate and less tangible than the impacts of more traditional projects, the impacts of RBA projects address those factors that give rise to immediate and intermediate causes of poverty, and are therefore likely to develop more sustainable solutions. This document offers a comprehensive introduction to RBA projects and how the framework can be applied to practitioners on the ground.
