Dream Life Skills Assessment Tool
Dream A Dream works with over 3000 children and young people a year from low-income slum communities in Bangalore. Its focus is to prepare youth to become active, productive and contributing members of the community as adults and in order to achieve this, the organization focuses on helping youth develop critical life coping skills.
Dream A Dream has worked with clinical psychologists from the UK to develop the Dream Life Skills Assessment Tool (DLSAT), a simple, effective and quantifiable impact assessment tool to assess the level of Life Skills in a child at the beginning of the program year and then again at the end of the program. Today, this tool is extensively used for the 3000 children and young people served by Dream A Dream and gives powerful insights regarding the effectiveness of its service offering.
This tool will be extremely useful for all organizations working towards empowering children with core life skills and can be customizable to the life skills focus. The tool has changed the way Dream A Dream is able to measure and report its impact and the ease of use has helped save thousands of man-hours and resources.
